Small agiba were photographed and collected by A.C.Haddon, E.P.Chinnery and Paul Wirz. In 1930, Wirz, a Swiss ethnologist collected several in the Kerewa region and Bamu river areas. One published in Art Styles of the Papuan Gulf (Newton 1961:46 fig.84) is similar in form to this agiba.
